Renovated in 2014, the hotel was originally opened in 1956 by the Swedish royal family, and was Ernest Hemingway's Madrid home. “Fantastic location, very accommodating staff. We had a small room, but super comfortable bed, stylishly decorated, cool bathroom with the BEST walk-in shower EVER (hot, high pressure rain shower head + handheld, and quite spacious). Nice DeLonghi pod espresso maker in the room; you can ask for more coffee pods, milk and bottled water for your coffee. Well priced for Madrid (I paid the same for an OK Airbnb). My only complaint would be the carpet when you walk in the front door is stained and tattered, but that's easily fixed so I am not sure why it's like that. And 24 euros each for breakfast is quite high.Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, couldn't beat the location!”
